Summary

Return to #1 New York Times bestseller Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn world of Scadrial as its second era, which began with The Alloy of Law, comes to its earth-shattering conclusion in The Lost Metal。

For years, frontier lawman turned big-city senator Waxillium Ladrian has hunted the shadowy organization the Set—with his late uncle and his sister among their leaders—since they started kidnapping people with the power of Allomancy in their bloodlines。 When Detective Marasi Colms and her partner Wayne find stockpiled weapons bound for the Outer City of Bilming, this opens a new lead。 Conflict between Elendel and the Outer Cities only favors the Set, and their tendrils now reach to the Elendel Senate—whose corruption Wax and Steris have sought to expose—and Bilming is even more entangled。

After Wax discovers a new type of explosive that can unleash unprecedented destruction and realizes that the Set must already have it, an immortal kandra serving Scadrial’s god reveals that Harmony’s power is blocked in Bilming。 That means the city has fallen under the influence of another god: Trell, worshipped by the Set。 And Trell isn’t the only factor at play from the larger Cosmere—Marasi is recruited by offworlders with strange abilities who claim their goal is to protect Scadrial…at any cost。

Harmony’s vision of future possibilities comes to an abrupt halt tomorrow night, with only blackness after that。 It’s a race against time, and Wax must choose whether to set aside his rocky relationship with God and once again become the Sword that Harmony has groomed him to be。 If no one steps forward to be the hero Scadrial needs, the planet and its millions of people will come to a sudden and calamitous ruin。

The next installment of this series has been so long awaited。 As usual, Sanderson's story-telling is second to none。 Wax and Wayne are an incomparable duo with Wax's stoic wry humour and Wayne's quirky self-deprecation。 I love seeing the progression of Wax and Steris' relationship and finally get some answers about TRELL。I can't wait for the full book to come in。 My pre-order is already in! Thankyou Netgalley for providing me a part of the book The Lost metal to read。 I just found out about the Wax and Wayne series a while back and was able to read them this week。 Luckily i was able to read a few chapters of an unedited version of The lost Metal from Netgalley。 Frankly I cant wait for the book to get published so i can read it。 From what ive read we get a glimpse into Waynes past。 I have adored him from the start and now even more so。 Wax is a senator now and a bill is being passed Thankyou Netgalley for providing me a part of the book The Lost metal to read。 I just found out about the Wax and Wayne series a while back and was able to read them this week。 Luckily i was able to read a few chapters of an unedited version of The lost Metal from Netgalley。 Frankly I cant wait for the book to get published so i can read it。 From what ive read we get a glimpse into Waynes past。 I have adored him from the start and now even more so。 Wax is a senator now and a bill is being passed which might not be favourable for places outside Elendel。 Marasi and Wayne have found weapons and food illegally being sent to another city, and The Set is upto no good。 I think the book will be published this November, ThankGod i wont have to wait long for it! 。。。more

THANK YOU NETGALLEY FOR THIS 10 CHAPTER ARC PREVIEW This preview was exactly what I needed - how excited am I to be back in this amazing world that Sanderson has created!Such a great opener with young Wayne (who is one of my favorite characters of all time) and his shining personality, even as a young lad。 But really, all the characters are so special and multi-dimensional and I am so excited to see what happens。 This teaser was a treat, but at the same time, an absolute tease。 So looking forwar THANK YOU NETGALLEY FOR THIS 10 CHAPTER ARC PREVIEW This preview was exactly what I needed - how excited am I to be back in this amazing world that Sanderson has created!Such a great opener with young Wayne (who is one of my favorite characters of all time) and his shining personality, even as a young lad。 But really, all the characters are so special and multi-dimensional and I am so excited to see what happens。 This teaser was a treat, but at the same time, an absolute tease。 So looking forward to this!! :) 。。。more

Another fantastic opener from Sanderson。 If you have read any of Sanderson's books before, especially the Mistborn novels, not much will suprise you about the format, and style of prose here。 We have more bad Wayne jokes, gripping characters, and a whole heap of intrigue in the form of a looming conspiracy。 Whilst regular fans will settle right in, there are also plenty of suprises on offer, with a large tilt towards revelations involving Sanderson's shared universe。 Tense, funny, accessible, an Another fantastic opener from Sanderson。 If you have read any of Sanderson's books before, especially the Mistborn novels, not much will suprise you about the format, and style of prose here。 We have more bad Wayne jokes, gripping characters, and a whole heap of intrigue in the form of a looming conspiracy。 Whilst regular fans will settle right in, there are also plenty of suprises on offer, with a large tilt towards revelations involving Sanderson's shared universe。 Tense, funny, accessible, and most all of all, heartfelt, this was an fantastic return to the world of Scadrial and i look forward to finishing the entire book upon release。 。。。more

Finished the ten chapter excerpt and so far so good。 It's vintage Sanderson and my favorite character (Wayne) is up to his usual antics。There's a lot happening but I'll reserve the five stars and complete review for the full book, which I will most certainly buy。 Of course I will…… it's SANDERSON after all!Thank you Netgalley for giving me a sneak peak。 Finished the ten chapter excerpt and so far so good。 It's vintage Sanderson and my favorite character (Wayne) is up to his usual antics。There's a lot happening but I'll reserve the five stars and complete review for the full book, which I will most certainly buy。 Of course I will…… it's SANDERSON after all!Thank you Netgalley for giving me a sneak peak。 。。。more

As all fans of Sanderson's Mistborn series, I eagerly await the latest Wax and Wayne novel。 I had a little trouble with the download。 Unwittingly, I began reading at chapter 3。 Wow。 Just goes to show you how important a good storyteller (and editor) can be。 The book, as started in the proper place is a promising beginning to the final (?) book in this series, Solid writing, winning characters, and I cannot wait to grab the entire book。Let's go Sanderson。 As all fans of Sanderson's Mistborn series, I eagerly await the latest Wax and Wayne novel。 I had a little trouble with the download。 Unwittingly, I began reading at chapter 3。 Wow。 Just goes to show you how important a good storyteller (and editor) can be。 The book, as started in the proper place is a promising beginning to the final (?) book in this series, Solid writing, winning characters, and I cannot wait to grab the entire book。Let's go Sanderson。 。。。more

I was given an extended excerpt of this book in exchange for my honest opinion。 I have been waiting to read this since 2016。 Wax and Wayne are my favourite part of the cosmere and this little taste of what comes next was everything。 The excitement levels were already off the charts but the first ten chapters were incredible。 This book already promises to be a classic Sanderson treat。 November cannot get here fast enough。

I received an ARC of the first few chapters as a reviewer for NetGalley。 This book picks up after "Bands of Mourning"。 We finally get to see a bit of Wayne's past at the beginning。Marasi, Wayne, Wax, and Steris all work in different ways to figure out what the Set, the mysterious Trell, and Harmony are trying to do as the world order unravels around them!So far the book lives up to its predecessors, so if you are a fan of the previous books you will love this! I always thoroughly enjoy his books, and the Mistborn Series is one of my favorite fantasy series of all time。 This book is the fourth in the Second Era of the Mistborn series and the seventh overall。 It takes place several years after the conclusion of the previous book, The Bands of Mourning。 Wax, Wayne, Marasi, and Steris are still trying to find the shadowy and powerful organization/cult, the Set, and prevent Elendel from descending into civil war。This may be an unpopular opinion, but I may like the Second Era even better than the first。 The characters are vibrant and I am so fond of them! Steris and Marasi are two of my absolute favorite female characters to ever appear in a fantasy novel。 They are interesting, relatable, and flawed in their own ways。 I adore them! Getting seeing how the relationship between Wax and Steris has developed in this book makes my heart so so happy! I have a feeling Wayne is in for some character development, and I can’t wait to see where that goes。 I’m also excited to see how the mystery plays out。 The initial groundwork in the first ten chapters already has me theorizing。Honestly, the only downside to this preview was that I have to wait until November to read the rest of the book!I really enjoyed reading this preview。 Knowing how the other books went, I know that ten chapters barely scratched the surface of all the plot twists to come。 I’m sure I’ll love the rest of the book even more than what I’ve read so far。 If you enjoy heists, fantasy, well-integrated magic systems, and vast worldbuilding, and you haven’t read the rest of the Mistborn books, then I highly recommend the whole series! Then you too can anxiously await the release of The Lost Metal。 。。。more
